Preserving our written and graphical cultural heritage is a complex challenge. The university course „Interdisciplinary Methods in Graphic Art, Book and Document Conservation" is a timely and interdisciplinary answer to this challenge.Written and graphical cultural heritage are two central areas of identification and legitimisation of Europe´s society and civilisation. Proper comprehensive preservation of written and graphical heritage is essential. Continuing education on the proper protection measures as a task of society cannot be overestimated.
Study with the university chair „Interdisciplinary Methods in Graphic Art, Book and Document Conservation" to learn to develop concepts of written and graphic heritage preservation which are most appropriate in terms of the needs of the heritage items themselves, while taking into account people-related, economic, legal and societal aspects, as well as to lead in the implementation of such concepts, contributing to the preservation of our cultural heritage.

Teaching concept
The graduates are awarded a Master of Arts degree. The five semester course includes 18 study units in 5 semesters and requires writing a master's thesis. Individual coaching, training in small groups and workshops focusing on practical application of the acquired theoretical knowledge guarantee an excellent learning result. The course is based on an integral didactic concept consisting of both online and face-to-face teaching.
Targets
Planning, conceptualizing and developing complex conservation projects, performing the planned measures on items of written and graphical cultural heritage with due regard for the requirements of the heritage object itself as well as the related economic, legal and social aspects involved in implementing the concept.Order information material from Universität für Weiterbildung Krems.
